What is Hydrowick Drainage?

Hydrowick Drainage is one of the most efficient and effective drainage systems on the market, utilising both a gravity and capillary action to quickly remove surface moisture and heavy rainfall. Its unique, patented design ‘wicks’ moisture and passes it through an open stainless core to channel and disperse excess water that is inaccessible by conventional drainage systems.

The installation process, too, is less invasive than most other systems, maximising results and minimising downtime – with surfaces back in play within 24 hours.

At Beaconsfield GC we pride ourselves on the condition of the greens. As we strived for 12-month playability we required a drainage system that could manage the ever-changing climate. We wanted a product that could cope with the wettest of days but on the other hand not affect moisture levels during the hotter months. We had two greens drained last March and the difference is amazing.

They were the wettest greens on the course with floating turf, puddling after as little as 4mm of rain, bare areas where they would sit wet. We could not even get a hand cut on them during the winter and they would spend most of the time as on temps. Now they're cut all year round, not temps, the​ sward has increased. No more floating turf and no more puddling! In my opinion, HYDROWICK is a must for wet, clay, push up greens.
